ActivitiesFriendly Towers provides residents with a full schedule of activities, both in-house and off-campus, from which they can pick and choose those things that they like to do. These weekly and monthly events are organized to maximize the enjoyment for our resident seniors.In-house activities include: Bingo twice per week, Creative Hour, movies, Game Time, birthday parties, weekly Mass, Protestant Church Services and Bible studies. Off-campus activities: one-day outings, such as holiday shopping trips, meals at various restaurants, visits to the Botanical Gardens, area Forest Preserves, Cubs baseball games, movie theaters, Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago Public Library, Grant Park Concerts and events, or any of the many Chicago museums. Free transportation is provided by the Friendly Towers courtesy van. Since the Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays hold depressing memories for many of our seniors, additional seasonal activities are sceduled to keep their minds busy. During Christmas, volunteers from a local church coordinate the distribution of gifts to each of our residents. A trip to see the Christmas lights in downtown Chicago caps our Christmas activiities calendar. |
